Geocaching
Try one of the fastest-growing activities on the planet at Stonehame Lodge and Chalets. Stonehame is now offering an on-site geocaching activity for groups, whether you are staying with us as part of a family reunion, birthday party, or a corporate get-away. Geocaching, a very popular hobby with people of all ages from all parts of the globe, involves using a GPS (Global Positioning Unit) to locate a hidden 'cache' or treasure. It is an activity that gets you outdoors in the fresh air with your friends, family, or colleagues, provides lots of exercise and loads of fun. We are offering this wonderful activity combining heart-pounding exercise, fun and easy-to-use technology to groups of 8 or more people (32 people maximum). Or...if you are a seasoned cacher who owns your own GPS unit, just come and make Stonehame your home base and spend your days searching for the many caches hidden on Fitzpatrick Mountain and in and around the Pictou County area. You will find many interesting caches hidden within a 20 km drive from Stonehame (we have information on these caches available to our guests). Geocaching is a terrific way to get off the beaten path and experience peaceful, untouched places that many have never seen. Spend your day in beautiful Pictou County and search for caches such as 'Windmill Lookoff', 'Little Log Church', Visit the Willis's', or The View of Elmfield'. Mountaintop Geocaching Get-Away Package
Fee: Package price: $139.95 (based on double occupancy). Add $40 for one-bedroom chalet. Description: For people looking to spend their get-away geocaching on the Northumberland Shore, this wonderful package includes a one-night stay in lodge or retreat room, full-color trail map of our property, information on local geocaches registered on geocaching.com, bottle of wine and continental breakfast for two.
Group Geoacaching Package
Group Geocaching Package (for those who do not own GPS units - 10 or more people up to a max of 32) Package includes rental of the GPS unit for the group (number of units depends on the size of the group), a 20 minute tutorial on the use of the GPS and the Stonehame geocaching exercise including hints and puzzles to find the geocaches hidden on the property, boxed lunch and bottled water. Package price: $25 per person Make it an overnight get-away and save 15% off accommodations. Add dinner in the evening and a hot country breakfast in the morning for $49.95 plus tax per person.

Treasure Hunt Adventure Package: Stonehame is now offering an on-site geocaching activity for school groups! Geocaching, a very popular hobby with kids of all ages, involves using a GPS (Global Positioning Unit) to locate a hidden 'cache' or treasure. It is an activity that gets people of all ages outdoors in the fresh air, provides lots of exercise and loads of fun. Package includes hour-long geocaching activity, agricultural promotional items, and of course, the view! Package price is $10 per child (taxes included).
